Called after Latin name of Brittany, this striking pullover shows the twist in traditional fishermen’s sweater, combining the chain-like cables, textured moss stitch and Breton stripes in one garment! Worked in DK weight yarn from the top down, it is a fun and entertaining project!

Finished Measurements

Intended ease: + 6-8”/15-20 cm.

DK weight yarn (approximate amounts): 1280 (1400, 1520, 1650, 1850, 2090) yards/1170 (1280, 1390, 1509, 1692, 1911) m.
Color A (approximate amounts): 280 (320, 370, 420, 460, 530) yards/256 (293, 338, 384, 420, 485) m.
Color B (approximate amounts): 1000 (1080, 1150, 1230, 1390, 1560) yards /914 (988, 1051, 1125, 1271, 1426) m.

Brooklyn Tweed Arbor (100% American Targhee Wool; 145 yds (133 m)/50g);
Color A: Humpback (grey-brown) – 2 (3, 3, 3, 4, 4) skeins.
Color B: Hammock (cream) – 7 (8, 8, 9, 10, 11) skeins.

Needles
Size US 6/4 mm: 24-32”/60-80 cm and size US 5/3.75 mm: two 24-32”/60-80 cm and two 16”/40 cm circular.
2 sets of double-pointed needles of same sizes.
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain gauge.

Notions
Markers, removable markers, two cable needles, tapestry needle, stitch holders.

Gauge
21 stitches and 32 rows = 4”/10 cm in Stockinette stitch on size larger needle, after blocking.
20 stitches and 32 rounds = 4”/10 cm in Moss stitch on larger needle, after blocking.
27 stitches of Cable chart = 3.5”/9.5 cm.

Notes
• This pullover is worked in one piece from the top down in round. The body and sleeves are worked in the round from the top down.
• Short-Rows are used for shoulder shaping. Knitters could use any other Short-Row method of their choice.
• A circular needle is used to accommodate the large number of stitches.

Difficulty: Intermediate.
