Formerly named Ho’onanea during our MKAL, now known as Around the Island.

We’ll dream of island life and umbrella drinks as we create our rectangular wraps with one color of fingering weight yarn with some simple lace, provisional cast on and optional beads.

Pattern includes three different project sizes:
• Small Wrap - 70” wide x 20” tall
• Medium Wrap - 80” wide x 26” tall
• Large Wrap - 80” wide x 34” tall

Pattern is fully charted and written.

Once again our friends at Stunning String Studio are offering limited “Around the Island“ yarn kits including yarn in your choice of over 140 amazing colors!

Pattern discussions will be in the Wild Prairie Knits group, so come and join us.

This pattern is knitCompanion® supported. What does that mean?

Details:
Skills: Pattern is fully written out and charted. The stitches used are all pretty basic, so it is a relaxing knit, but with lots of detail to keep you interested. Basic knit increases and decreases (yo, k2tog, ssk, slipped stitches) are included, but anything beyond that will be explained in detail as we go along. We will be offering a good introduction to adding beads, provisional cast on, working in the round and picking up stitches.

Yarn: Stunning String Serenity (80% Superwash Merino, 20% Silk, 400 yds (366 m), 100 g), 2-4 skeins.
• Small Wrap (20”x70”) 2 skeins, or any fingering weight yarn, 800 yds (732 m), 200 g) in Reflecting Pool
• Medium Wrap (26”x80”) 3 skeins, or any fingering weight yarn, 1200 yds (1097 m), 300 g)
• Large Wrap (34”x80”) 4 skeins, or any fingering weight yarn, 1600 yds (1463 m), 400 g) in Aloha

Recommendations: Pattern was written for tonal kettle dyed yarns. Highly variegated, gradient or “busy” yarns are not suggested.

Needles: 2 - US 6 (4.0 mm) 40” (100 cm) circular needles, or size required to obtain gauge.

Other: Stitch Markers
Optional: 6/0 Seed Beads and tool to apply bead: crochet hook, Super Floss or a beading tool. Small Wrap: 550, Medium Wrap: 700, Large Wrap: 750 beads.
