Inspired by the Huron River, which winds playfully through Ann Arbor Michigan; Around the Riverbend captures the essence of an exhilarating float downstream. With some unexpected turns and changes of scenery, you may find yourself peeking ahead to see what’s coming next. Allow yourself to be inspired by the texture and color changes of nature, which are sprinkled throughout this pattern. Immerse yourself in the experience of learning new techniques and you will get the most out of this engaging project.

This crescent shaped shawl uses one full skein (100g/ approx 400 yds) of single ply fingering weight, and one contrasting mini skein (20 g/approx. 87 yds) of the same or similar base. You will use nearly all of your yardage so plan accordingly.

Combined techniques of crochet, Tunisian/afghan crochet and knitting are used. It is advantageous to have an interchangeable (5.00mm/ US 8) needle as well as interchangeable (5.00mm/H) Tunisian crochet hook in order to switch seamlessly between the techniques as they alternate in the pattern.
