This beanie-style hat is knit entirely in the round, starting with smaller needles for a tighter brim, then the body is knit on larger needles. The ribbing continues into a simple knit and purl pattern, keeping the hat fabric elastic throughout, at the same time giving some diversion from a usual narrow rib. The stitch pattern is both charted and written.

This is a good project for a beginner, all you need to know is how to knit and purl in the round and make simple decreases. For more experienced knitters this makes a nice and fast TV-watching project.
