This hat is made from worsted weight wool, but the ear flaps and part of the bottom of the hat are lined with Trendsetter Curly. The curly yarn makes a thick lining and requires the 13 and 17 US needles. The lining can be omitted, though.

This hat has a tall, rather pointed peak. For individuals with smaller heads, I would omit some of the alternate knit rows when shaping the decreases at the top of the hat.

I didn’t include instructions for the colorwork for the hat. I just randomly added stripes, stranding in a new color at the beginning of a round. I cut the yarn, leaving a tail, before beginning a new color and wove in the tails at the end.
