This is one of five original designs in Ann Hood’s new book “Knitting Yarns: Writers on Knitting”.

These ruffled slipper socks will provide you with warmth and flair for your feet. They are knit in the round using sock weight yarn at a slightly looser than average gauge usually used for socks. The socks start with the ruffled cuff then go into the heel, foot and lastly toe.

There are only one set of directions even though it is designed to fit a shoe size ranging from US 6 to US 10. The only difference per size is how long to knit the foot so it fits the length of your foot. When working on the foot of the sock, try it on and when it reaches the beginning of your toes begin the toe decreases.
This pattern uses the magic loop method for sock knitting (you-tube has great videos explaining this technique)

Mari Ashworth, my mom, gave me the greatest gift when she taught me how to knit. Not only did my mom give me my passion, she also taught me how to have inner strength. You are stronger than you think so just keep putting one foot in front of the other to get to where you need to be.
