Pattern description from One Skein: “Sometimes I can’t settle on a single stitch pattern. That indecision turned into serendipity when I combined wide and narrow cables with ribs in this asymmetrical hat design. It’s knitted in the round with no crown shaping, and you’ll have it off your needles and on your head in just a few hours.”

Finished Size: About 15 (16.25, 17, 17.75)“ (38 41.5, 43, 45 cm) circumference with fabric relaxed; will stretch up to 19 (20.25, 21.5, 22.75)” (48.5 51.5, 54.5, 58 cm). To fit a toddler (child, woman, man).

Yarn:

  • Chunky-weight (CYCA Bulky #5) yarn.
  • Rowan Polar (60% wool, 30% alpaca, 10% acrylic; 109 yd 100 m/100 g): #650 smirk (pale lavender) and #655 combat (dark gray), both in size 17”

Needles:

  • Size 11 (8 mm): 16” or 24” (40 or 60 cm) circular (cir).
  • Change needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Marker (m); cable needle (cn); tapestry needle; 1.5 x 3” (3.8 x 7.5 cm) piece of cardboard (for pom-pom, optional).
