Athena's Bookends

June 2013
Fingering / 4 ply (14 wpi) ?
32 stitches and 34 rows = 4 inches in Stranded Stockinette Stitch
US 3 - 3.25 mm
US 2½ - 3.0 mm
235 yards (215 m)

Add some whimsy to your library with a set of Arts and Crafts-inspired Fair Isle bookend cozies. Worked in the round with little finishing required, they’re a great project for stranded knitting novices and experts alike.

These bookend cozies can also be modified to fit larger bookends.

This is a great stash-buster project. Approximate yardage requirements are: MC: 115 yards; CC1: 40 yards; CC2: 40 yards; CC2: 10 yards; CC3: 20 yards

Note: This will be corrected in the printed version of the book (and any subsequent digital editions), but the abbreviation sk2p in this pattern means slip 1 stitch, knit 2 sts together, then pass the slipped stitch over the k2tog. This abbreviation was accidentally omitted from the Abbreviations page.

This pattern is in the book Stitching in the Stacks, which is available in both print and digital format via Cooperative Press (the digital edition is also available here on Ravelry).
