The top is worked flat in 2 pieces. The ribbing pattern is described in words, the lace pattern is charted. A glossary of chart symbols is provided in the back of the book.

You may use straight or circular needles as you prefer.

As described in the book:

“Knitwear at a fancy dinner party? Sure, why not? Just the top, with a pretty lace pattern contrasting with the interrupted ribbing, is beautiful in itself, and combined with thte detached sleeves it becomes dramatic enough to raise a few eyebrows at a breakfast at Tiffany’s.

This design goes well with layers and layers of chiffon or silk, but feel free to wear it with jeans….the shoulder bands are wide enough to allow for a bra underneath.“
