“I have the greatest dislike to the idea of being over-trimmed -- quite a horror of finery…I have some notion of putting such a trimming as this to my white and silver poplin. Do you think it will look well?”
-Jane Austen, Emma

Mrs. Elton may fear being overtrimmed, but you need not worry about such a thing with this simple, understated ring. It’s a snap to knit up and can be made in any color combination imaginable to match your every outfit with style.

This coordinates with Mrs. Elton’s Necklace.

Pattern Notes:
This ring is stretchy by nature, since it is knitted. The finished size should be close to the recipient’s ring size, but there is a little elasticity and give in the finished item. The garter stitch border on each side of the ring will curl under a little, giving the finished ring the appearance of an icord like band. I also wanted a slightly daintier appearance, so I kept the overall stitch count low.

I’ve used a diagonal pattern for beading, because I preferred a simpler appearance, but feel free to tweak the bead placement to meet your vision.

This is a great partner piece with Mrs. Elton’s Necklace, and would make a fabulous gift set.
