The Aurora Borealis Beanie is an exercise in knitting to gauge.
All six sizes of hat have the same number of stitches cast on – the difference in size comes from knitting to gauge with different weight yarns.

The pattern gives directions on how to knit hats from newborn to woman sized. It is a full lace beanie, including the crown decreases. The lace is both in written and charted format.
This hat requires blocking at the conclusion of the knit to ensure the lace is shown off to its full visual effect. An easy method to accomplish this is included within the pattern.

The pattern has been named for the swirling appearance of the lace – reminiscent of the beautiful swirls of light seen in the Aurora Borealis (or northern lights)
