A stunning intricate lace capelet designed to keep your shoulders warm on cool summer nights or days out. The perfect cover up for weddings, garden parties and balls, it buttons delicately at the neck to keep it in place all day or night and folds up to fit in even the tiniest of clutch bags!

  • Aurora is also a modern twist on the old classic “bed jacket” so if you are about to spend some time in hospital or know someone who is bed-ridden (or someone who simply loves reading in bed!) then this will make the perfect practical and pretty gift!
  • The pattern comes in 4 sizes; XS (S, M, L). Pictured in Size XS.
  • Finished neck circumference (buttoned) 17 (18, 19, 20)” fastened.
  • Depth of finished (blocked) Capelet approx: 13 (13, 17, 17)”.
  • The depth of the capelet can be easily altered by adding in more or fewer repeats of Lace Chart 2. Each extra repeat of Lace Chart 2 will add approximately 4” to the depth of the capelet and will require approximately 80 (90, 95, 105) extra metres of yarn.
  • Can be made using any lace weight yarn. Approximate yarn requirements: 245 (270, 390, 425) metres
  • The lace pattern is both charted and fully written out row-by-row.
  • It is a fun project for more experienced lace knitters, there are some more advanced lace techniques such as K4tog, Nupps and “K3tog-increase to 7” (or, K3tog, YO, k3tog, YO, K3tog, YO, K3tog into the same 3 stitches), so perhaps not a project for beginner lace knitters.
