Aurora Shawl is a pattern out of the third book from The Guy with the Hook; Memory. It is inspired on the Aurora Borealis which he saw in Lofoten - Norway.

Yarn Requirements: This shawl is made with hand-dyed premium sock yarns. I have used two brands together; for the black color (Color A), I used Scheepjes Metropolis in colorway 070 Cairo. This yarn is available in balls of 50 grams with a length of 200 meters. The yarn comprises 25% nylon and 75% Merino wool. I used 150 grams (600 meters).

I used my hand-dyed yarns for the other colors – the Guy with the Hook’s hand-dyed yarns. This yarn comes in hanks of 100 grams with a length of 360 meters. This yarn consists of 80% superwash merino wool and 20% nylon. Of all colors, I used one hank of 100 grams. I used the following colorways:

Color B: Turkish Seaside green/bluerams/ 126 meters required)
Color C: Glacier Green light greenrams/ 126 meters required)
Color D: Artic Ocean mid blue/whiterams/ 144 meters required)
Color E: Midnight Lagoon dark blue/greyrams/ 198 meters required)

My own hand-dyed yarns are discontinued in the meantime, so feel free to replace it with any type of sock yarn in the same range of colors.

Crochet hooks needed: You will use a 3,0mm and 4.0mm hook in this pattern.

Size: The longest side of the shawl will have a length of approx. — 165 cm. The two smaller sides will have a length of approx. — 120 cm. The height of the shawl will be 90 cm.

Memory is available in the Etsy shop from the Guy with the Hook or any Scheepjes retailer.
