It has come to my attention that there is an error in the third repeat of the pattern. I am planning to re knit this shawl and have my new tech editor revamp the layout in line with my newer designs.
To this end I have temporarily suspended sales of this pattern and will relaunch it as soon as possible.

Autumn Crocus is a fun, relaxing shawl designed to use a sock weight yarn with limited yardage of less than 400 yards paired with a contrast yarn from your sockweight leftovers. Fun and frugal - the perfect combination.

Knit from the top down there is plenty of soothing stocking stitch and a simple but effective garter stitch and lace panel repeated at intervals.

Once the main body the shawl is complete, the lace border is worked with no further stitch repeats - making for a stress-free end to your project.

As pictured in the sample, the shawl measures a generous 49” wide and 20” deep.

The shawl was inspired by the Where-I-Live Craft-a-along and reflects the fact that Saffron Walden where I live was named for it’s fields of crocus’ - the saffron harvest being a chief source of income for the growing medieval market town.
