Autumn Winds is a craft hybrid, constituting three styles of stitch work.

This particular Tunisian lace stitch pattern provides a delicate, yet warm affect to keep your shoulders and neck warm from those autumn winds. Completing the stitch is easy, and is a simple two row repeat.

Using a fingering weight yarn, and a 5.5 mm crochet hook ensures that a drapey, and flowing fabric is acheived in this work. A 6.0 mm hook could also be used for a more lacy effect.

Its construction consists of the body worked in Tunisian Crochet, the top border worked in a simple knit 1, purl 1 repeat (but can be easily worked in crochet) and the bottom border worked in regular crochet.

The crocheted edging provides a subtle balance with picots while the knit border gives a dimension of texture in this shawl that can be crocheted as well. The stitch pattern is easy to pick up and adaptable for size.

Edit: I have updated this pattern to include a chart of the body and crochet border.
