The Avalon Dress is an elegant and classy, tunic-style dress boasting a beautiful Saxon Braid Cable vertically down the front side. Yoked neckline and dress hem is done in half linen stitch to keep the Celtic styling consistent. Add a gorgeous decorative button or two (depending on size) for its back closure. You can make it shorter for a tunic style top or knit the full length dress. Knit with bulky yarn for a true sweater dress, worsted for a medium weight, use worsted or light worsted cotton blends for a lightweight dress suitable for warmer weather. Plenty of ease to allow for comfort and layering. Truly an “all seasons” pattern!

The Avalon Dress pattern was designed for the Intermediate Beginner knitter, a basic knowledge of knitting is required. The most tedious area of the pattern is the intensive cabling. There is, however, a chart provided for the Saxon Braid Cable and it is also written out long-hand for knitting flat AND in the round as the pattern requires both.

You will need:
●250-850 yards of worsted weight yarn; 200-600 main color and 50-250 trim color
●16” (24” for sizes 3/4 and up) size 7 circular needles
●Size G crochet hook
●Darning/yarn needle
●1-2 ¾” to 1” decorative button (I get mine from Tessa Ann: http://www.etsy.com/shop/TessaAnn)
