Inspired by Celtic circles, Avoca is a modern interpretation of a traditional cable pattern. Knit yours in classic neutrals, perfect for exploring the countryside, or turn up the color with a bold palette and brighten the urban landscape. Make the matching Avoca hat to wear with your gloves or mittens for a beautiful set.

YARN REQUIREMENTS
Berroco Ultra Alpaca, 215 yds / 198m per skein.
One-color version requires approx. 131 yds / 120m for fingerless gloves; and approx. 153 yds / 140m for mittens. Two-color version: one skein of each color.

GAUGE
These are knit at a tighter gauge than the yarn calls for to keep wind out, warmth in, and to minimize stretching. Pattern gauge in stockinette is 23 sts = 4”/ 10cm (yarn band gauge of the Ultra Alpaca is 20 sts).

NEEDLES & NOTIONS
One set of DPN’s, 3.75mm / US 5 (or size needed to
get gauge).
Cable needle, stitch markers, tapestry needle.

DIMENSIONS
Unstretched diameter around palm: 7”/ 18cm.
Fingerless gloves length: 7”/ 18cm.
Mittens length: approx. 9 ½” / 24cm or desired length to fit your hand.

SKILLS USED
Long tail cast on, knit and purl in the round, increasing and decreasing stitches, backwards loop cast on, cables.

Fingerless gloves and mittens have been test knitted.
