This is a colour chart and pattern for a pair of mittens with a simple chevron pattern. These patterns are suitable for beginner knitters and up who are willing to try or are confident with colourwork. They are knitted flat and seamed up after they are finished.
Techniques needed are cast-on, knit, purl, increase, decrease, intarsia and bind-off.

The pattern is laid out as follows
 Yarn options as pictured and suggested otherwise
 Pattern for the mittens
 Colourwork charts
 A non-exhaustive list of techniques

I have presented three sizes for these mittens, though only the middle size has been tested extensively. Knitting the larger size will elongate the mitten, knitting the smaller size should also shorten it. You can also shorten the mitten a little bit by doing the increases over fewer rows.

Yarn options as pictured
PURPLE – Mothy and the Squid 4ply sock yarn in ‘Stubby Squid’ colourway (https://mothyandthesquid.com/products/stubby-squid-75-25-...). If available, the mini skein option is enough yarn.
BLACK – Bendigo Woollen Mills Classic 5ply.
Both pairs shown in the cover page images use the same two yarns – the colours are just reversed.
Yarn options
20 g of MAIN COLOUR
10 g of CONTRAST COLOUR
Feel free to substitute in your favourite colours.
