Ayrmer headband
The Ayrmer headband continues the sea-theme of the Sheigra cardigan, with its pattern of waves and fishes. It is a quick knit, worked in the round – ideal for a first venture into stranded colourwork.
Three colours are used, and the picture shows pure wool Snaeldan 2-ply (a fingering-weight style yarn, available from Midwinter Yarns: http://midwinteryarns.com) in the colourway Mist, Charcoal, and Atlantic blue.
The finished headbands use less than 20 g of yarn for each of the two background colours, and less than 10 g for the fishes.
The pattern comes in three sizes (43, 48, 53 cm); the tension is 30 sts to 10 cm, using 3 mm and 3.5 mm circular needles (40 cm long). Negative ease of 8–10 cm will ensure a snug fit.
