The Azel Capelet is the perfect garment to wear as a dressy and elegant cover-up or an artsy fashion accessory with jeans and tee. Either way, it is sure to be a welcome wardrobe accessory. It knits up more quickly than imagined on extra large needles.

The yarn used in the sample capelet is Opium Palette Lilac Wine by King Cole paired with a Hayfield DK lavender Color 0959 yarn. The two yarns are held together throughout allowing the changing textures and colors of the Opium to highlight the knitting. Each capelet will be unique and it is so nice to watch the capelet develop its own color patterning. If you do decide to use Opium Palette, there are many colorway options. They are lovely paired with a single color of DK weight yarn.

If you don’t want to use Opium Palette, this capelet can also be knit with a single strand of worsted or aran weight yarn or with a paring of two DK weight yarns if the gauge is close to the requirement.

For size reference, the sample caplet is shown on a U.S. Size 10/12 mannequin.
