The Azimuth shawl is knit from tip to tip with 2 different size needles. Sudden increases and decreases result in a ruched effect, thus giving this shawl it’s unique texture. Once the body is completed, stitches are picked up along the bottom edge to create a horizontal border. Perfect for showcasing a variegated yarn. Or highlight the texture in a solid.

Yarn: Approx 900 yds of fingering weight yarn. Sample shown in Lazer Sheep Sock, Colorway - Shooting Star, 75% SW Merino, 25% Nylon.

Dimensions (AFTER BLOCKING): 67 inch wingspan, 18 inch depth

Needles: US size 4 and 6.

Notions: Tapestry needle.

Gauge: 28 stitches by 32 rows is 4 inches in garter stitch on US size 6 needles.
