This is a baby cardigan knitted in Valley Yarns Rainbow, knitting with two thicknesses at the same time. (It would also work with Lion Brand Homespun, or another soft, squishy yarn).

It is knitted from top to bottom. I included short rows after the garter-stitch cuff to cradle the baby’s head, and to make the back longer than the front.

After the cuff and buttonhole are knitted back and forth, you join the stitches in a circle using dpn’s, and decrease 3 stitches evenly spaced every 4 rows to reduce down to a cone shape.

You might need to use a larger needle to get gauge, as I knit pretty tightly.
