Baby’s woollen pants

The pattern for these woollen pants has proved to be most useful and effective as an alternative to rubber pants which can cause nappy rash and skin irritations very easily. As pure wool has the unique quality of absorbing moisture (up to 40% of its weight) and of keeping warm even when it is damp, it is very efficient when worn over nappies. They don’t become smelly for a long time because the fibre of the wool is able to absorb smells and neutralise them. The woollen pants let the skin breathe, prevent the nappies from becoming cold and absorb moisture so that their dampness does not penetrate through to the outer layers of clothing.

The size given is for about 4-18 months old.

You will need:

80gr (3oz) double knittign wool (pure wool)
4mm knitting needles
3mm knititng needles for the borders around waist and legs
