This is Marianne Knorborg’s version of the shawl used by Crown Princess Mary of Denmark recently for bringing both of her newborns home from the hospital. The original is a Shetland lace design.

Materials as listed in the pattern:

Materialer: 400 gram tyndt uldgarn med en løbelængde på ca. 200 m/50 g.

(In English, that’s 400g thin wool yarn with a ratio of approximately 200m per 50g.) - but you can knit this up in any yarn - from 1 ply lace to double knit.

This is a traditional Shetland Hap Shawl, the Danish pattern is likely a translation of an English pattern.
