This simple to knit cap uses an easy to memorize stitch pattern. It’s stretchy and although there isn’t a defined band, the lower portion of the hat is knit using a smaller needle size to make a snug fit.

The style is suitable for men or women. While the sample hat was knit using an acrylic yarn because it is to be donated to the local hats for kids project, this design would be particularly nice knit in a wool to better show off the texture.

The size of this hat is easily adjustable by increasing or decreasing the number of cast-on stitches in multiples of 8. If making a larger hat, knit additional repeats of the two-round stitch pattern in the body of the hat.
