This is the recipe I used for my bug mittens and my sons’ squirrel and pirate mittens.

It is for the basic pattern only, as the bug and squirrel charts are not mine. The bugs are available from Morag of Vintagepurls from her Bug Out sock pattern. I am publishing the chart for the skull and crossbones as I made that myself.

Size is varied by reducing the number of cast on stitches, or by changing yarn/needles and knitting to required length.

I designed these after knitting the Bug Out socks as I wanted to use the chart to make myself mittens and as those socks are knit toe-up I thought knitting the mittens finger-up would make it easier. The thumb caused me some issues till I tried something a bit different which worked perfectly!

Pattern is available free, I may add further sizes in the future which would be a pay-for pattern.
