One of four bags designed by Amanda Jones to make use of the bamboo bag handles given with Issue 54 (May 2009) of Simply Knitting.

Knit top-down, this bag starts on straight needles but the majority is knit in the round. You will need a pair of straight 4mm needles and a 4mm circular needle (40cm or 16 inch, able to accommodate 66 stitches) as well as a stitch marker (to mark the beginning of the round).

A piece of suitable fabric 32 x 16 cm will be needed if you wish to line the bag. You will also need bag handles. Those given with the magazine are circular bamboo handles, 11.5 cm or 4.5 inches in diameter.
