A swingy a-line cardigan with generously sized patch pockets sewn on after the knitting is complete.

Measures

31 ¾, 36 ½, 40, 44 ½, 48, 52 ¼” at bust
and
37 ½, 42 ¼, 45 ½, 50 ¼, 53 ½, 58” at hip

Requires

1029, 1176, 1323, 1470, 1617, 1764 yards of dk/light worsted weight yarn.

US 6/4mm circular and dpn needles for body
US 5/3.75mm circular for edging

Notes
The body is worked in one piece to the underarms, then fronts and back are divided and worked separately to the shoulders. The sleeves are worked in the round to the underarm then the cap is shaped working back and forth in rows and sewn into place. The neckband and sleeves are finished with applied i-cord and patch pockets are sewn into place so that the direction of knitting on the pocket is perpendicular to the body.

When choosing yarns look for yarns with LOTS of drape, alpaca, silk, light cottons etc. Alternatives to Moorland could be Berroco’s Ultra Alpaca or Classic Elite Inca Alpaca. If considering super wash wools stick closer to dk weights then worsteds.
