Keep your hands warm with these pretty mittens with a fun design of slanted textured stripes, which seem to swirl around the hand. Because the pattern is kind of ribbing, the fabric has some elasticity and creates a snug, yet comfortable fit. The eye-catching feature is the thumb gusset, which is worked into one of the knit stripes and also wanders into the direction of the slant.

These mittens are worked in the round from the cuff up. The spiral pattern is created by shifting the beginning of the round by one stitch every other round.
