I designed this shawl for Finnish knitting cruise of 2019.
The shawl has a classical “from the neck” construction.
As shawls of this constructions tend to grow fast in the height and slowly in the width, the result is that the ends of the shawl tend to be short. In order to compensate for that, after the body is completed, there is short row section in garter stitch.
The gauge is not important and you can use any yarn you want but this may affect the final size of your shawl and the quantity of yarn you need. Mohair, linen, wool, sock yarn would work fine.
