This cardigan was inspired by the deceptively simple lines of classic Chanel jackets. The main sections of this cardigan are in stst with rib side panels and so are simple and quick to knit and are a great place to show off your skills in smooth, even knitting. The tartan details are worked as a combination of stranded work and bobbins - basically a combination of intarsia and Fair Isle - and so do need knowledge of these methods. This cardigan is shaped at the bust with short row shaping and at the waist but if you prefer more room in this area, omit the front and back waist darts.
The original yarn seems to be discontinued but Blacker Yarns British Classic 4ply seems a good substitute but check with a swatch.
