The Central Spine of the shawl is knitted first, then stitches are picked up along the edge and worked out to the tip. Stitches are then picked up for the top and then bottom edges. The squares of the Central Spine are then replicated on the mitts to use up the last of the gradient colours and create a matching set.

Sylvan Tiger Yarn Lethera Gradients are created by over-dyeing four natural shades of Blacker Breeds Shetland 4ply, a beautiful woollen spun yarn that produces a squishy fabric, both warm and light to wear.

Blocking
Shetland yarn benefits from wet blocking, as this helps the yarn to bloom. To wet block, soak finished item in cold water with a little soap or alternative until thoroughly wet. Rinse out soap if needed. Squeeze out as much water from the piece as you can. Lay flat and pin out or stretch to finished measurements.
