I dedicate this pattern to the memory of our little Miniature Dachshund Lena, who was born October 23, 2004 and passed over the Rainbow Bridge on July 26, 2021. She was our joy, our blessing and my knitting muse. Although I originally named my shop to honor my grandmother Lena who taught me to knit when I was 4 years old, I’m rededicating it our sweet and precious little companion. She was … and will always be … much loved.

My little love and muse, Lena, told me she would like a cable sweater for Christmas this year, so Mommie designed Lena’s Banjo Cable Miniature Dachshund Sweater.

The Banjo Cable is impressive looking, but is a VERY EASY cable to do. Really! If you haven’t tried knitting cables before, this may be a good one for you to try. You’ll be knitting one strip of cables along the center of the back; the rest of the sweater is knit in stockinette stitch, with a ribbed turtle neck and bottom edge.

The sweater is knit flat and you’ll be seaming it together.

As with all my designs, if you have any questions as you work up the design, please contact me at the Email address listed on the pattern. I’m always eager to help my buyers to have a successful, enjoyable knitting experience.

And as usual, Lena says hello to all the other adorable miniature dachshunds out there!
