In the summer of 2011, I won a 1st Place Blue Ribbon at the county fair for my kimono jacket ensemble, which included this jacket with a matching purse, necklace, earrings and shawl pin. I wanted a loosely fitting, flowing jacket with a nice drape for “dress up” occasions.

I’m offering the pattern for the jacket only. It is an easy knit in one piece, but I designated it as an Intermediate skill level knit because stitches need to be picked up and the knitter needs to be able to do single crochet and reverse single crochet. Because of its unstructured design, it looks lovely on women who wear sizes Small through Extra Large.

I loved designing this, I loved making this, I loved winning a Blue Ribbon for it … and I love wearing it! I think you’ll have fun making it and will enjoy wearing it too. And if you decide to enter it into your fair’s competition, GOOD LUCK!

As with all my patterns, if you need any assistance or have any questions while you work this project, just contact me and I’ll be very happy to help. I want you to have an enjoyable knitting experience with a successful outcome.
