This blanket is made up of squares. Big squares, little squares, thick squares, skinny squares. You decide!

I came up with this simple square pattern after seeing similar patterns around the internet. Each square is a perfect little on-the-go project you can toss in your messenger bag or bike basket.
Perfect for using up sock scraps and especially handspun yarns! And because you don’t need to match a specific gauge when you start out, you could even use these as little gauge swatches.

Because each square is worked from the centre out, it’s easy to keep going until you run out of yarn, to make use of every last yard. Mix and match sizes for a unique puzzle feel, or make the dimensions of each square the same, the choice is yours!
Go for whichever gauge feels right, mix yarn thicknesses, go wild!

This blanket will be as unique an expression of yourself as all your crafting. Go on with your hipster self. Because it’s hip to be square(s)!
