Shade: Fireside; 5 (6, 7, 7, 8, 8) skeins

Gauge: 23 sts & 30 rounds = 10 cm / 4” over St st in the round on 4 mm needles, after blocking.

Needles: 4mm / US 6 circular needles, 80 cm / 32” length,
AND needles suitable for working small circumferences in the round
Always use a needle size that will result in the correct gauge after blocking.

Notions: 6 stitch markers, 6 locking stitch markers, tapestry needle

Notes: Barn Sweater is knit modularly, joining pieces together as the garment is worked. Stitches are cast on for Piece One across the mid back, and the first piece is knit flat from the bottom of the shoulder blades, over the shoulders, to below the bust. Short row shaping is worked across the back to add depth, and the neck opening is formed as Piece One is knit. Stitches are then picked up for Piece Two in the cast-on and cast-off edges of Piece One, and joined to work in the round to form the lower body. Finally, sleeve stitches are picked up along the selvedge edges of Piece One, and knit in the round to the cuffs. A small seam is sewn under the arms before working the sleeves and a ribbed collar finishes off the neck.
