And as a side note, the gauge isn’t really important for this pattern. It’s a dishcloth. It’ll be the size it is when it’s finished. And I’ve never used anything other than cotton yarn for dishcloths, though I have had some say they used regular acrylic. I’m not sure how well the final piece would work. I’d love to know if you’ve tried.
