This is a great pattern to use up bits of yarn from your stash. Experiment with different yarn combinations, they will all turn out well. Striped or hand-dyed sock yarns combined with a plain colored baby or fingering yarns makes great little hats. Stripes of different colors are fun, just start and stop them wherever you feel like it.
