Basic fingerless mittens for lady or child
The same pattern and needles are used for both Ladies and Child’s versions of the mitten, but the yarn thickness is different, to give the size difference
Materials required: set of 4 double pointed size 2.5 mm knitting needles, approx 160 yards/150 metres DK/Light worsted yarn (roughly equivalent to a 50 g ball) for ladies mittens or 4-ply/fingering for child’s mittens, stitch holder.
Thanks to Rockleigh for the information that size 3.25 mm needles and DK/Light worsted yarn will make mittens to fit a mans hand.
