This pattern includes directions for a basic hat, in 5 different sizes (Baby to Large Adult) and 3 different weights of yarn (DK, Worsted, and Bulky). A good basic go-to pattern. Use it as is, or change it as you like - change to a rolled edge, or 2x2 ribbing, make it longer before decreasing for a slouchy version, add stripes, you name it!

Yarn Requirements:
DK weight - 80(100, 120, 145,175) yds
Worsted weight - 70(85, 105, 125, 150)yds
Bulky weight - 55(70, 85, 105, 120)yds

Needles:
For DK: 16” circular needles in sizes 4 US(3.5)mm and 6 US(4mm) and a set of size 6US(4mm) double pointed needles (dpns) (For smallest sizes, use size 4 US (3.5mm) dpns instead of 16” circular needle)

For Worsted: 16” circular needles in sizes 6 US(4mm) and 8 US(5mm) and a set of
size 10 US (5mm) double pointed needles (For smallest sizes, use size 6 US (4mm) dpns instead of 16” circular needle)

For Bulky: 16”circular needles sizes 8 US(5mm) and 10 US(6mm) and a set of size 10 US double pointed needles (For smallest sizes, use size 8 US (5mm) dpns instead of 16” circular needle).

Gauge:
For DK: 5.5 sts=1”
For Worsted: 5 sts=1”
For Bulky: 3.5 sts = 1”
