This handsome ribbed sock is suitable for both men and women. It’s interesting, but not too challenging, to knit. This is a good choice for variegated yarns because the subtle ribbing doesn’t complete with (or
get overwhelmed by) the color changes.

Instructions are provided for working this simple sock from the top down as well as from the toe up. Try both directions!

Pattern is written so that it can be worked on DPNs, magic loop or 2 circulars, as you prefer. Foot and leg length are adjustable to fit.

UPDATE: Looks like the gremlins have been at work, and there’s a small issue with the patterning on the heel flap of the Top Down version. The ribbing is reversed. If you continue in pattern as set it all works out.

Rows 2 & 4 of the heel flap should be:
(WS) Sl1, p2, k1, p3 6 (7, 7, 8, 8) times.“
Row 3 should be: (RS) Sl1, k2, p1, k3 6 (7, 7, 8, 8) times.

Apologies for any trouble this might have caused.
