The Grand Plan series of articles by Ann Budd was eventually compiled into a book, The Knitter’s Handy Book of Patterns. A chart form pattern: plug in your gauge and desired size and cast on the number of stitches listed, then follow the chart to complete the project.

Yarn weight: Aran / 10 ply (8 wpi)
Gauge: 20 stitches = 4 inches St St
Needle size: US 8 / 5.0 mm
