Basic Toddler Shoes are slipper-shoes with shaped toes knit in the round, then felted.

Yarn: You will need approximately 80 yards of a sport-weight feltable wool for best results.

Supplies:

  • 4 US size 5 double-pointed needles
  • 2 stitch markers
  • tapestry needle

Sizing: Finished shoes will measure approximately 5” long and 5.5” in circumference before felting (US child’s shoe size 5), and will be smaller after felting. The degree of felting is up to the individual knitter; the shoes pictured have been felted to measure approximately 4.5” long and 5” in circumference (US child’s shoe size 4).

This is the pattern for Week Twenty-Seven of Pattern a Week at Running Jack Knits.
