The perfect first time twining project. Hat is wind resistant and can withstand the harshest of climates.

Twining is also called “2-end knitting”. It’s an old Scandinavian knitting technique where both the inside of the skein and the outside of the skein are intermittedly used, twisting the sts as you go. The left side of the Knit stitch is more pronounced and the WS of the project looks like sideways V’s. It’s extremely soft and wind-resistant - and double thick.

Update for tight knitters, go up 1 size in needle as knitters tend to twine tighter than normal. For a larger size hat, CO an extra 8 sts to the adult size hat and work 1” longer than suggested. Crown shaping remains the same. Note that additional yarn will be required.
