The design inspiration for this piece lies solely in Erica’s incredibly creative mind. Her #knitlandscape project reveals an inspired view of the world--and her world is boundless! Traveling, photography, and a commitment to a creative life inform this piece.

It was a pleasure to collaborate with Erica and develop her ‘snapshot’ of this landscape into a wearable ‘panorama.’

Learn a simple method of ‘Icelandic Intarsia’ to knit the borders as you work the body. No seams! No picking up stitches! Just glorious garter stitch! This piece is knit sideways resulting in a long vertically striped shawl.

The pattern can easily be adapted for length or height by adjusting the cast on or the numbers of rows worked.
Gauge is not critical for this project.
We used a beautiful sport weight wool yarn. Fingering weight yarns may be substituted.
As written, the pattern requires one 50 gram skein each of seven colors.
