Basketweave is made from small squares and rectangles. The placement of the pieces gives the impression of strips weaving under and over each other.

Many complex patterns can be achieved in weaving by passing under and over different numbers of cross pieces.

The afghan in the photo was made using Aran yarns but any yarns can be used. It measures approximately 130 cm x 170 cm (52 x 68 inches).
