This is an intermediate pattern, worked in heavy weight wool yarn on size 10 ½ circular needles. (The optional collar pattern is worked in bulky weight yarn) This pattern is worked in stockinette stitch, intarsia, and short rows. Simple chain stitching is used for detail work. The knit side will be the right side. This pattern uses heavy weight wool yarn, 150 yards of white, 120 yards of medium brown and 50 yards of black, (Collar-optional approximately 15 yards of red and 5 yards beige. The finished project is then fulled. You will need a #16 embroidery needle or similar needle, and size D crochet hook, 2- 12 mm brown eyes.
