Are you an adventurous knitter looking for a challenge? This is a charted pattern for the 2012 Special Olympics USA Scarf Project utilizing two-image double knitting. Each side has a separate readable image, listing attributes for the Be a Fan campaign.

Two-image double knitting is not really any more difficult than regular double-knitting, but the charts require more diligence as it’s not clear what images you’ll be creating until you actually knit them up. (I personally think that’s half the fun -- it’s like magic watching the words form on either side! For me it was very addictive, making it very difficult for me to put these projects down at times.)

Each scarf will use approximately 120 yards in each of the official colors (~1/2 skein per color when using Red Heart Soft, or ~1/3 skein when using Red Heart Super Saver.) Gauge is not critical, as long as the finished scarf is close to the Project guidelines -- 6” wide, by 54”-60” long.

I made best efforts to ensure these charts are error-free, but please feel free to message me on Ravelry should you come across any errors -- or even if you just have questions.

While the deadline is almost here for most states for the 2012 Winter Games, I plan to update the charts when the official colors for 2013 are announced.

Creating this design was a labor of love, inspired by my own very special athlete. :)
