from the designer: “Everyone has a favorite sweatshirt. This is mine, translated into something a smidge classier. It’s the sweater you throw on when nights start to get chilly.

“It also takes advantage of variegated yarns AND the ease of knitting in the round. The body is constructed in one piece to the underarms in the solid color. Then you switch to the variegated for the chest and sleeves. So your variegations are consistent. Brilliant.

“The sleeves are worked from the top down, just because. Also, it makes the sleeves seem to go faster, as you decrease toward the wrist and rows get shorter.

“Work from two balls of the variegated at once, alternating between balls every 2nd row. That will help make the color patterning even smoother. I hate working with two balls at once, but this really is worth the trouble.”
