Book description: Inspired by the salt-loving vines of the beach morning glory, this casual sweater combines the easy fit of beachwear with an elegant vine lace design on the sleeve. This is a raglan-sleeve sweater with waist shaping, worked top-down in pieces. (The reason for the unusual construction is that the cotton yarn benefits from the structure of side seams, but the pieces need to be worked from the top down to allow for the yarnovers along the raglan lines.) A lace panel runs down each sleeve, and there are simple lace details along the raglan seams as well. The neckline is straight in both the front and back, and is wider than a typical square neck, but narrower than a boat neck. The neck edging is garter stitch, to match the cuff and waist edging.
